In August of 2003 I shattered both my tibia and fibula in my lower right leg while playing NCAA soccer. Lying in the emergency room, I told myself that I would hike the length of the Appalachian Trail as soon as I was able. No longer was this dream a 'Someday' dream: on June 15 2005 I began that hike. I completed my goal on November 11 2005 and had already begun making plans for future long distance hikes. Now I am a true hiking addict, and I can't go back. People like myself are known as Hiker Trash. Read about my journeys, browse through my pictures, and discover both the joys and the heartaches of being a solo long distance hiker- all here on one website!
