The Long Trail is a beautiful trail that runs along the ridges of the Green Mountains through the length of Vermont. The southern 105 miles of trail run in conjunction with the Appalachian Trail. At a trail intersection known as Maine Junction, the LT continues north in the Green Mountains while the AT heads northeast to the White Mountains. From here to Canada, the trail is very rugged, muddy, and steep. There are many ladders to climb and descend but, in my eyes, its always worth the effort!
